Power for stabilizing jacks
Our set-up time is surprisingly fast. We have a system that incorporates power into raising and lowering the stabilizing jacks on our travel trailer. It starts with a 21.6 volt battery powered drill. While we keep the manual leveling rod that came with our travel trailer as a spare, we purchased an additional one. We cut the crank handle end off, leaving a handy drill “bit” that is a perfect match to our jacks. When it’s time to set up camp, the crank slides into the electric drill and it powers down the jacks. When it’s time to depart, we set the drill in reverse and the jacks rise into travel position. A spare battery for the drill and a couple of sets of square orange plastic leveling blocks complete the arrangement.
